ChiliFest VI Preparations

As we mentioned, CA confuses us. Last year we thought as soon as it felt like Winter was interminable, we would continue our annual ChiliFest . . . but the Winter never seemed to really hit hard. This year, we decided to combine Chili Fest with a fundraising event for ATRAVES, the Nicaraguan organization for which Andrew is a board member. We are coordinating our party with several in the US and Nicaragua and if you want to contribute, you can donate online.

Some pictures from our chili preparations:
many onions:
safe onion eyewear:
beans:
pre-chopped meat:
shrooms:
tomatoes and peppers:
3 pots - vege, normal, and spicy:
hot peppers from our garden:
much stirring:

yeah well, vegetarian chili needs some sort of 'meat' otherwise it'd be beans and tomatoes . . .

my veg chili just has beans and tomatoes...oh wait, also corn. But it's an un-american chili (in that it's Indian-inspired), so perhaps it doesn't count! yes, I'm un-american, thank you very much.

love the photos! especially of leigh in goggles. (but this is key for cutting all those onions...ow...i have these glasses-goggle type things that i wear when i cut onions- it's the best thing ever, really, as i am very sensitive.

i didn't know andrew was involved with ATRAVES-- looks like a very cool organization.
