We met our Providence buddy Jill in Berkeley on Monday. The weather was awful, but we chose to go for a walk into the Berkeley hills regardless. En route to the UC Berkeley botanical gardens, what appeared to be a raccoon jumped out of a tree. As we identified it as a gray fox, a cat also leapt out of the tree, clearly just barely escaping becoming lunch for the fox. The beautiful fox was undisturbed by us and we watched it for quite some time as it itched, scratched, and vogued.
