After a hard week of work (okay 3 days for Andrew and 2 days for Leigh), we went to Tahoe. Mark Yoder (Wesleyan '96) and Rebecca invited us to join them for a day of x-country skiing. (Yoder is getting his PhD in Physics at UC Davis and Rebecca is working as a chemist in Napa.) At first we though, darn, it's been 10 years since we last skied. . . But then we came to our senses... We went to Donner Memorial State Park just West of Lake Tahoe. It was a gorgeous day - warm and sunny - AND, it had snowed all week, so there was some nice snow. We skied to Donner Lake and around the State Park, but unfortunately we missed the Donner Party memorial. Frankly, I'm proud to say that I only fell 7 times, and my legs are still functional. We had a terrific time - not a bad way to spend a Saturday!
I am sad to report that due to our outing, we were unable to attend Pig Day at the Farmer's Market in Davis. We heard that besides being able to pet the piggies, you could also snack on them, as there was a pig roast. . .
