Few bands seem to be doing something really different these days, but two have caught my attention.
The first is a band Mike and I saw in Brooklyn before the Cold War Kids played - the band is Elvis Perkins in Dearland:
The second is a band that Andrew will see in Providence in August, and Mike and I will be seeing in September in Austin. They are called Gogol Bordello and described as gypsy punk, "a bit like The Clash and The Pogues having a fight... in Eastern Europe". This band cracks me up, but I also think they are fabulous:
