After a post-dinner cycle, we arrived back to our place to find a fine furry friend dining on our bird feeder. Ms. Rat apparently didn't read the sign: "birds only". She was not in the least bit worried about our presence, somehow understanding that the window between us provided a safe space for all parties involved.
Dare I mention that this rat was far cuter than those in the lab? In addition, note the wire it agilely ran up and down to acquire its snacks.
Unfortunately, we have decided that our bird feeders need to go. Apologies to our avian friends.

kind of a cute fellow. but yeah, not really great idea to have around a lot!!!
